I have a black dining table that sits in my conservatory, with lots of light it's a perfect situation for a 'studio on a shoe string'. If I angle the camera correctly, I can cut out interior distractions and lead the eye to the garden beyond the conservatory window. It creates a sort of infinity, while still having control in a still environment!
This is a sad flower my youngest son brought home for me, after giving it a wash to bring it to life, it proved to be a perfect picture subject.
Due to the flower being quite tired I focused on the near petals and decided to go for a shallow depth of field. This also had the effect of creating a very definite reflection.
