Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Las Vegas, Nevada at apex. Apex is a small patch of sand dunes right outside of the city.

Time

The image was taken at high noon when the sun was at its brightest. This allowed me to have a much needed fast shutter speed.

Lighting

The lighting was nothing special or out of the ordinary. Just the hot Vegas sun pounding down on us.

Equipment

During this shoot I used a Nikon D5000 and a 70-300mm Nikon lens.

Inspiration

The rider was one of my good friends who I went riding with many times. One day we just decided we are already out here, might as well shoot some cool images.

Editing

I did minimal post processing. Just a little editing in photoshop using curves, color saturation and cropping.

In my camera bag

The equipment I now carry is a Nikon D810, 50mm 1.4 sigma lens, 70-300mm Nikon lens, and a Nikon SB900 flash.

Feedback

Me sure to have an experienced rider if you are shooting motor sports. Having bright light does help a lot so choose your time of day carefully.
