What a great capture in so many ways. And the added bonus of the lighting. Congrats on the feature.

The capture of lightning really sets this photo aside as being very unique. Congratulations

Love this. Colors are beautiful and the lightening was just the icing on the cake.

Makes me long for my June workshop and hope that I can photograph an image this inspiring. Sigh.

Location
This barn is just off US 195 south of Uniontown Wa, the the heart of the Palouse.Time
This photo was taken just after sunset as small spring storms rolled through our region.Lighting
It was difficult trying to get the lighting correct as I was shooting long shutter speeds to try to capture the lightning. Compounding the issue was that the clouds were breaking allowing the sunset to show through. This made for a beautiful composition but it was a nightmare balancing the stormy sky, bright sunset and long shutter speed for the lightning.Equipment
I only had my back-up camera, a Canon T2i and it's stock lens, with me at the time. I did have my Bogen tripod with me which really made the shoot possible.Inspiration
I'm lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Palouse region of the Inland northwest has amazing rolling hills covered in wheat. I love traveling the back roads and finding barns that have stood the test of time. The architecture and building process that went in to a building a barn, that's only function is to hold animals, feed and equipment, is lost on today's society of cheep, quickly built metal buildings.Editing
Yes. It's a single image that has been stopped down and up in lightroom then processed through Photomatrix HDR software. In my camera bag
I carry a Canon 5d Mark II, A Canon T2i, Sigma HSM 70-200, 28-70 and a 10-20.Feedback
