Behind The Lens

Location

This photo taken on Temperance Ave south of Church Ave in Fresno California. This is a rural area just outside of the city.

Time

This photo was taken around 4:30 pm during the late winter months.

Lighting

The lighting was great on this day because of the storm clouds. The clouds and lighting were the key to this pic.

Equipment

As always I had my Canon T1I with me. The only lens I had was a 18-55mm.

Inspiration

I was on my way home from work and had been watching the sky and the clouds for the perfect spot. When I got to the railroad tracks I saw the perfect pic. the clouds were the real inspiration for the photo.

Editing

I used Lightroom 5 for the post processing. I cropped and straightened the photo. I also darkened the sky and brought out the blue in the gravel around the tracks.

In my camera bag

Normally I have my T1I, a 18-55mm and a 55-250mm lens

Feedback

Always have your camera with you because you never know when the next great shot will come. With this photo, I had to get on the ground so don't be afraid of getting dirty.
