Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo whilst on board a river cruise ship, on The Tweed River in NSW, Australia.

Time

Late morning, around 11.00 am

Lighting

It was an overcast day, as seen by the greyness. I used the natural lighting inside the cabin of the boat, no flash, or any other lighting.

Equipment

Nikon D610 (hand held) AF - S Nikkor 24 - 85 1 : 3.5 - 4.5 G lens

Inspiration

I love birds, wildlife and the opportunity presented itself, due to the cruise boat stopping to feed the fish (tourist attraction!) and the Pelicans came, so I started shooting.

Editing

No, none. Picture you see as was taken

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 6D, Tamron SP 24 - 70 F2.8 lens.

Feedback

When you go out to shoot a particular set of pictures, have a goal, but be open to opportunities. Be patient, and put yourself in position to shoot these photos! Set your camera up to the best advantage, given what you are trying to shoot, the lighting, close up, or far away, action or still shots, and wait. Never give up.
