Congratulations, love how his hands are on his hips as if he is trying to figure it all out. Wonderful.

First, the water flooding the square, but the little boy with the bewildered look made it complete.Editing
Other than a little sharpening and bringing the exposure up slightly, no.In my camera bag
Tis image is several years old so my equipment has changed. I now have a Canon 1Ds mark III but I mostly shoot with a Canon 5d Mark III. Lenses will vary depending upon what I expect to be shooting. I always have my Canon flash with me but I rarely use it as I try to capture images with the available light.Feedback
Luck is not really luck but the result of sound advance planning. Before going out to shoot consider the location, what you might capture at the location, weather conditions, time of day and also time of year. For this image I knew the chances were the square would be flooded (as it was the night before) so a quick check of the time for high tide showed one during twilight. The weather was going to be partly cloudy and the shot would be of stationary or mostly stationary objects. That this boy was in the picture was the " luck" partof the advanced planning.
