Thanks Bruce - the great thing was it is exactly how it looked to the naked eye that morning too!

Behind The Lens

Location

Salzburg in Austria during early winter

Time

We woke up early and went out for a walk, it was about 2 degrees and the city was asleep

Lighting

The late sunrise of winter created a spectacular sepia - this photo is completely unedited - the morning actually looked exactly as it is captured

Equipment

Nikon D5000

Inspiration

The warm colours of a frozen morning

Editing

No - unedited

In my camera bag

Peak designs strap and belt clip, lenspen, and that's it - I try to travel as light as possible especially when hiking or traveling through new countries

Feedback

Using bursts can really help, especially if you want to capture wildlife in motion, I was lucky one of mine piked up the bird as it was only in frame for a split second
