Behind The Lens

Location

This image was captured in South Texas near the town of Refugio. It was taken on the Texas Photo Ranch.

Time

It was taken about 9:30 in the morning.

Lighting

The sky had thin, high clouds affording ample light without having direct sunlight.

Equipment

Nikon D7000 with a Nikkor 300mm lens

Inspiration

Catching the moments of bird flight that are not usually seen is what drove me to capture this image.

Editing

I ran it through Photoshop but only adjusted for minimally for lights, darks and balanced colors. Very little was done to the image.

In my camera bag

Nikkon D600, nikkor 80-400, nikkor micro 105mm, nikkor 16-24mm

Feedback

Set up the shot so you know where the bird will land. Get focus and all settings set and then use a remote trigger to fire a burst as the bird lands.
