Location
This photo was taken in my flower garden .Time
I really like taking pictures of nature, especially with a close-up perspective to get all the little details. I took this picture in the Spring about mid-morning after it had rained.Lighting
I love to utilize natural light and find the best light is on a partly cloudy day, in the morning or evening. Strong sunlight often causes harsh glare or creates distracting shadows. Good lighting is key to capturing the right picture of water in any form such as water droplets. You have to be prepared to take a photo of water from many angles to get that perfect shot.Equipment
I used a Fujifilm FinePix S5700 camera in Macro mode with no flash.Inspiration
Since you can't capture the smell of a Spring rain on film, I like to get photos of nature with raindrops still on them. It serves as a reminder of the beauty and freshness of rain.Editing
I used Photoshop to edit this photo and give it the monochrome look. The original photo has many different colors and tones that didn't really allow the raindrops to show up well. Black and white was too dull in my opinion. The flower was a very pretty shade of pink and I felt that a soft monochrome color would capture the essence of Spring and do the photograph justice. In my camera bag
When I took this photo, I was using a Fujifilm camera. I sold it many years ago and got a Sony camera. So my Sony camera and my Samsung cell phone are always in my camera bag.Feedback
When it comes to capturing the tiny details of animate and inanimate objects, you have to be willing to get on your hands and knees which sometimes means you will get dirty. But remember it's all worth it in the end when you see the final results.
