Location
I took this photo in the car from the passenger seat on the way to Montauk from New York City. We got off an exit to get gas between exit sixty something and seventy on the LIE.Time
The sun was at that point where it was almost completely down but was creating these rich colors in the sky.Lighting
No.Equipment
I used a Canon 7D camera. I did not use a flash or anything else. It was a new camera at the time--my boyfriend bought it for me as a gift since I had been using an old one for quite a while, and I was still figuring out the ins and outs of my new camera. You could say I messed around with it quite a bit on that journey to Montauk and caught some beautiful sky shots.Inspiration
I was truly inspired by the beauty happening in the sky as well as the journey we were taking to Montauk for a weekend away. It was an evening in the late Fall and the air was crisp, I was in love with my now husband, then-boyfriend, and the evening was quite magical between the streaks and oranges and pinks in the sky, and the transition from Fall to winter. I captured quite a few of these shots, however, this one was special.Editing

I always have my Canon 7DFeedback
Bring your camera everywhere. When you feel inspired by something you see, just shoot with out inhibition. I try not to focus on all the rules all the time. I aim to experiment and shoot passionately, and try to get rid of the critic in my head. Also, go out in that time of day, when the sun is going down--it's a beautiful time to shoot.
