The leopard known as Luluka scans for prey. We had found her earlier in the afternoon, surrounded by game viewing vehicles. She had been out hunting for herself and her two cubs when she had been spotted.

Hunting was impossible with so many vehicles following her every move and alerting prey to her presence. She decided to lie down under a bush and sleep until the crowds disappeared. One by one, the vehicles left the, now, boring leopard and went off in search of something more interesting.

At dusk, when there were only a couple of vehicles left, she rolled over and prepared to resume her hunt. This shot was taken when she moved onto a fallen tree trunk and lay on it, scanning for a potential meal. (Our vehicle was now a few metres forward from the position that "Scanning for prey 1" and "Creature of the shadows" was taken.)
