Location
We were on a Berlin Wall city cycle trip, the Bornholmer Bridge was the first spot were East-Berliners fled to the west. I instantly loved the symmetry of the bridge, unfortunately, due to traffic, I couldn't use my tripod.Time
Early afternoon.Lighting
Because of the clouds, the weight of the history of the spot, I wanted to make this image a bit dramatic, so I dialed down exposure and lighting a few stops.Equipment
I shot this image on my Nikon Z7 II with the 24-70 at 24mm, f13.Inspiration
The symmetry of the Bornholmer Bridge, its place in history and the dramatic clouds inspired me to take this picture.Editing
To make it more dramatic, I played around with lights, hue, clarity and painted a bit of lights here and there. I also removed a few cars, because of heavy traffic on this bridge with U-Bahn and cars, I couldn't use a tripod. In my camera bag
I carry now a Z9, 24-70, 14-30, PeakDesign tripod and NiSi filters.Feedback
I always (try) to plan ahead, see what's on ViewBug, 500PX and social media, what is the best part of the day to visit the place and make sure you are staying close by, if possible, to re-visit for better conditions.
