I have loved taking pictures since the early seventies. I started with a kodak 110 taking landscapes while stationed in Colorado at fort carson. Colorado is still one of my favorite places to take pictures. I was discourage in taking my photography to the next level by a after leaving the service by a college counsellor who informed me after I had asked about getting a bachelors degree in photography that is not what I needed to be successful in the late 70s. Prior to attempting that course of study I had taken several classes in photography at the university of Hawaii while stationed at Schofield barracks on Oahu. The picture of lead singer john kay of Steppenwolf was taken while there. I was using a Mamiya Sekor 1000 DTL which I had bought used for $30 when I arrived on the island.
