Grand Jury Winner

"This image took my breath away and was the clear winner in my book.  In my opinion this image belongs in a gallery.  The processing is absolutely lovely, the capture is superb and I love the tones chosen.  While so many people are over saturating their images, the maker chose to allow the image to speak to her and give it a soft pastel that draws me immediately into the scene.   I’d love to see more work by this image maker. " -Tiffany Briley

Runner Up

"This was a bold composition that the image maker chose with the horizon line in the center and it works perfectly.  I admire the bold move, their beautiful processing of the image, and the way the maker draws my eye with the movement of the clouds towards the light.  This was imagined, executed, and handled perfectly.  Well done Jamie Richey! " -Tiffany Briley

Runner Up

"I absolutely love this image.  It speaks to me.  The tones of this image support the story as does the transition of the light and dark.  Your use of placing the subject in the center of the composition allows the viewer to ponder the symbolism of the placement.  To the maker of this image, I’d love to see more of your work. " -Tiffany Briley

Runner Up

"What caught my eye and pulled me into this image was the beautiful light and lines of the water in the top right and bottom of the image.  I think the framing and use of the light and lines really makes this work.  I applaud the maker!  Well done! " -Tiffany Briley

Runner Up

"I really enjoy strong black and white images and so when I saw this image it really jumped out at me.  In my opinion this should be considered a fine art piece.  Your use of light and tones cause this to be taken to the next level.  Well done! " -Tiffany Briley

Runner Up

"Beautiful lines, light and the variation of texture with the grasses is absolutely beautiful.  I appreciate your delicate use of processing to maintain the integrity of what you saw while you captured it.  You have captured what may be a common scene to many and with your eye and use of light have made an image to stop the viewer in their tracks.  Well done! " -Tiffany Briley
