Intuit Photo Contest

What are the subject matter categories?

There are six subject matter categories, described below. A new category this year is the Intuit Values category. Participants must assign a category to each photo they submit to the contest. Photo entries must not contain a recognizable image or likeness of any specific person, or, if such photo(s) do contain images of identifiable individuals, you have obtained the necessary written permission from such individuals to submit the photo(s) for the contest and allow Intuit to use the photo(s) for the purposes described herein, per the contest Terms and Conditions.

Abstract and Still Life
Abstract photos typically have strong graphic qualities. They tend to emphasize color, shape, and texture. Still life photos often capture everyday things in uniquely startling or soothing ways: a cane against a wall, a hat on a table.

Building and Architecture
Photos of buildings, ruins, and structures
Digital Art
Although digitally manipulated images are also allowed in the above categories, provided the image still maintains a natural appearance, this category exclusively showcases images created or drastically altered in software like Adobe Photoshop. If the digital darkroom work is the main attraction of the photo, or plays a big part in its creation, enter it here.

Intuit Values
The new Values were released this year and we created this category to solicit photos that best represent them. Photos that best represent our values can be submitted in this category.
Nature and Landscape
Nature images capture the natural world and its non-human inhabitants: mountain, desert, sea, sky, or jungle. This category also includes land and water animals, insects, plants, trees, and flowers. Photos in this category might also capture the intersection of the natural world and the man-made world: an oil pump in a desert, a tent on a mountain.

People
This category is for photos of people at work, play, or rest as the central focus, as defined by contest terms and conditions.
