I missed the focus on this, because the wave startled me ... okay the Texas and Florida beaches I am used to don't have rocks like this or waves that crash on them like this. The thought that jumped into my head was I hope Canon wasn't lying about it's weatherproofing on the 5D Mark III, because we all are going get wet. Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. BTW did you know you can't run (or at least I couldn't) in wet sand.
