Out where we live, there isn't tons of variety. Of course, the clouds are always doing something, even when they aren't here. Then again, clouds and the weather good enough to get decent images is a bit of an issue.
These 'cumuo nimbus with vertical formation' near the horizon were just asking for a photo. I framed the barn and fence in the foreground at an attempt for perspective as well as scale for distance of the clouds.
You can see the thunderheads 'topping out' where the cloud formation reaches a physical peak of ability to climb, so they start to spread out as they do.
Down low, if you can see it, there should be some indications of rain coming down underneath these thunder clouds as well where it's very dark.
