A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Eric Leslie for his collaboration as a guest judge in this photo contest. "I am a full time photographer based in northern California. You'll usually find me shooting weddings, portraits and commercial work. I'm constantly building technical knowledge like any other photographer, but I spend a disproportionate amount of time finding ways to connect with my subject. If you're shooting people, that relationship is everything."

"This scene is just incredible. There are several pieces to this puzzle that elegantly tell a fantastic story. First and foremost, the way Henry used the setting sun that was cutting through the jungle clearly establishes context. I know they're hunting in the jungle in the evening. Mix that with the way he setup the men among the trees gives the photo perfect balance. The use of a narrow depth of field with flash to highlight the man in center quickly secures my attention and I'm led throughout the photograph seeing new details with each look." - Eric Leslie

"Stuart took on a really challenging photo and did a great job with it. I love how he challenged the rule of thirds and split the photograph vertically right down the middle placing the sun kissed side of the landscape on one half and the shaded side on the other. It's one thing to see this composition, but it's extremely challenging photograph to create so well. He has perfect focus and sharpness through out the image from the foreground all the way to the background. The dynamic range between the sunlit and shaded side is fantastic and still looks very realistic. The shadows of details and the highlights on the buildings and ridge are still full of detail. "My first reaction to this stunning landscape with loads of depth and interest was the well executed long exposure. Per my personal taste, I like just enough motion in the water to imply motion, but I don't care for exposures so long that the waves flatten completely out. This is just about perfect. I also love the skilled exposure for the sun. It's tough to expose that in balance with the much less bright areas on the mountains and on the water. Marco nailed it." - Eric Leslie

"Photos like this quickly draw me in and take me there. The striking flowers in the foreground grab my attention and then when that settles in, you almost get your breath taken away when you see the vast view of the basin and the setting sun behind them. It's a stunning composition and the skilled exposure for the sunlight and shadow areas of the photograph show great skill." - Eric Leslie
