Location

This picture was taken in Western Mongolia, during the festival of hunters with eagles ( "Golden Eagle Festival" )

Time

October 2017. It was warm enough for Mongolia, but at the same time an overcast day, without large differences in the brightness of various objects.

Lighting

As it turned out later, it was really good that there was no bright sun. Everything was evenly lit, without the "knocked out" lights and shadows. This year I was also at the festival, but I had to shoot in much worse conditions

Equipment

Nikon D610, Tamron 150-600 (G1). Handheld shooting...

Inspiration

I wanted to convey the emotions that hunters showed and experienced during the competition. And at the same time try to successfully include this beautiful bird in the picture. In fact, it really was a difficult shot. The hunter rides a horse, they move quickly, the bird sometimes covers his eyes or twists his head. And it turned out very difficult to catch the right moment

Editing

Here there is a slight processing using Adobe Photoshop and Nik Color Efex Pro

When shooting this event in Mongolia, try to take a position on the “narrow” side of the ring, so that the background is just a mountain, not a crowd of spectators.
