When the lake freezes, methane gas are trapped and formed the ice bubbles. This is an absolutely beautiful scene on a frozen lake. It is also hard to take pictures when snow falls as snow will cover these bubbles. The day I took this picture is extremely windy, so no snow can pile up but at the same time making the condition more difficult to take pictures
