Location
This photo was taken near Canmore, Alberta on highway 1Time
I took this photo at sunset around 9 pm in June 2018.Lighting
It was a cloudy day when I took this photo, I waited until the sun met the horizon and took the shot just as the sun was coming down. It was also rainy that day and I think this helped complete the shot.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7500, and I used a Tamron 18-400 mm as the lens. No flash, no tripod.Inspiration
My aim was to capture a cloudy horizon, it was June near sunset, and I had just had dinner with my family when I noticed that there were clouds near the horizon. I felt inspired to take that cloud formation with my camera and that's how I took the shot.Editing
Yes, I used light room. I did basic editing. In my camera bag

My advice to others looking to capture something similar is to be patient! It takes a long time to capture the right photo. For me, this one took hours to wait for, and I think that capturing the right photo does sometimes take that long.
