I was in Freiburg i.B. during my ERASMUS and one of the things I loved the most was wondering thru' the woods on the Schlossberg, enjoying those warm beautiful colors and cold air in the morning I couldn't even see in my homeland.

The photo was taken in Freiburg i.B. Germany where I lived for some time some years ago. I was wandering as usual on one of the several paths thru' the woods upon the Schlossberg mount really close to the city, I was so enchanted by the place I decided to stop and look around and find the best point of view to take some photos. This one is one of them.Time
It was a cold morning, not really early... I had to await for the light to be well widespread all around and have the right kelvinLighting
I really loved those warm beautiful colors though the air was very cold. I just shot in natural light, no flash nor light was added at allEquipment
At that time I just had with me some of my light travel equipment: Canon 550D, Canon EF-S 18-200 F/3.5-5.6 IS.Inspiration
I loved that much wandering thru' the woods on the Schlossberg, enjoying those warm beautiful colors and cold air in the morning I couldn't even see in my homeland in Sardinia. So the intent was to capture the magic of those colors.Editing
Of course! I always shoot in raw and post-processing is a basic part of the whole process leading to the final picture. In this very case I did just a few; I just had to give some more light to the tree trunks exposed to the direction of light and add a general saturation preserving a natural mood.In my camera bag
Today I'm a professional photographer, so equipment depends on what I'm shooting for, I mean, it may be for fun o for job. As for job I usually have with me Canon EOS 6D and 5D mkIV, Canon EF 24-70 F/2.8, 50mm F/1.4, + flash, tripod, and other lenses I rarely use. As for fun I carry with me something lighter as like Canon EOS 550D with 18-200mm, Canon EOS 6D with 50mm 1.8 or 28mm 2.8.Feedback
Well, an always good advice, I think, it could be to get familiar with the place and to observe for some time the way the light changes thru' day long, note it and get to the place in time for that moment, and once there keep calm and take all the time it takes to shoot and ... shoot a lot! You can always choose later the magical photo.
