Location
This photo was taken in my small home studio/lounge.Time
It was taken probably around midday and was indoors.Lighting
I used a speedlight on a stand with a softbox for the main light. I then used another speedlight on a stand with a home-made snoot made out of black cardboard for the white circle in the background.Equipment
Nikon D7100 with an old, manual 50mm 1.8 lens. One flash was a Nikon SB700 and the other a Yongnuo YN560-II.Inspiration
This photo was inspired by old film noir style photos. The model (Rosa Summanen), also helped with the styling of the clothes etc.Editing
I removed a lot of small distractions, extra hairs etc. The other thing was the smoke. I used another photo that I took of burning incense and some Photoshop skills to place the smoke into this image. I didn't want to use real smoke for the shoot. In my camera bag
Nikon D7100, Sigma 10-20mm, Nikon 35mm 1.8G, Polaroid SX-70 or other old camera, tripod and filters etc.Feedback
You don't need much to create something like this. Experiment with your lighting and have fun!
