Behind The Lens

Location

This is two images combined. Both taken from the same spot on the banks of the Thames.

Time

The lower left corner of the image was taken during the day, the rest of the frame was shot the following night.

Lighting

The city of London provided its own lighting. Both frames were 30 second exposures - the daytime shot through a ten stop filter.

Equipment

Shots were taken in a canon 6d

Inspiration

I try to capture movement and the passage of time within a still frame.

Editing

Both frames one above the other in photoshop then a gradient mask applied to the one on top.

In my camera bag

My daily bag has a Sony a7 with a Samsung 35mm prime. It’s tiny and makes for an awesome adventure camera.

Feedback

Use a tripod if there is space, or fill a sock with dry rice to make a ‘beanbag’ camera support.
