Location
In my kitchen/dining roomTime
This shot was taken around mid day. I was waiting until I could use the neighbors house to reflect some light back into the room.Lighting
Outside of using the neighbors house for reflected light I did use a flash behind the frame as some fill as I wanted a lighter and brighter image.Equipment
I used a Canon 77d, Sigma 17-50 Fe.8, Manfroto tripod and a Yongnuo Flash inside a small softbox.Inspiration
I had just made Cranberry Orange Muffins for the first time. The weather had been on the grey side of things so I wanted to make an image that was light and bright but featured the muffins. I guess you could say I wanted an image to make me feel better.Editing
Minimal Post Processing ie contrasts , shadows/highlights bit of sharpening I think all in all I spent about 5 min max on this image. In my camera bag
My "bag" varies. I have two main loves with photography Food and Wildlife/birds. For Food I usually use my Canon 77d and either the Sigma 17-50 F2.8 or a Tokina 100mm macro. Tripod now is a Vanguard tripod that I enjoy much more than the previous one that I had. I do have a couple of speedlights from Yongnuo brand and a 5 in 1 reflector plus some black and white cards. For Wildlife if it is a short distance to where I am shooting it will be the Canon 77d and Sigma 150-600c lens. If it is a longer trip on foot I will use the Olympus EM5 Mark 2 with the 75-300 v2 lens and also the 14-150 "kit" lens.Feedback
Find an inspiration image. Work off of that or decide a direction that you want to go and build around that. Tripod is helpful because the scene will change but the camera will stay put until you move it. Take your time if you can shoot teathered do so if not take the card to the computer look at the images and see what you do not like . Maybe a shadow that is wonky or highlights are wrong and then adjust. Do not trust the back of the camera I guess is what I am trying to say.
