A self portrait I took on a desert island in Mexico.
Upon running around these runes, I spotted this beautiful pile of rope in the corner of a dimly lit room. I stripped off all my clothes and set up my camera to snap this shot before running off to catch my boat ride back to the main land.

No time to think. No time to plan. Just me and the Mexican island rubble in purfect harmony making art together.Time
This was one of those island moments where everyone was waiting for me at the boat ready to leave. I was running toward them in the hot afternoon sun with all my gear when I spotted a fantastic room in the old rubble of my favorite abandoned salt mine.Lighting
The beam of natural light was magically hitting the exact spot that I knew I wanted to pose.Equipment
I used only a tripod and my canon 5dMiii.Inspiration
I peaked into the dark room and noticed this beautifull pile of rope tangled up in the corner, illuminated by a beam of natural light. It was too purrrrrfect for me to resist. I darted into the dark room and quickly set up my camera, took off my clothes and curled up in the corner for a few shots.Editing
I did very minimal post processing on this image. I switched to greyscale and added a bit of definition between blacks and whites. In my camera bag
I normally carry tripod, 5dMarkiii, 40mm lense, 24mm lense, 70-300mm lense, lense filters, remote trigger, sound gear, go pro, drone, camera rain jacket, lense wipes, tons of compact flash cards!Feedback
This whole thing probly took about three minutes altogether before I threw my clothes back on and ran to the boat. I would say follow your instincts, some of your best work cam come from not planning and just listening to your inspiration in each moment!
