Location
This photo was taken at a local garden we were visiting for the first time.Time
It was mid afternoon, which is not always the best time to be taking pictures of flowers. But a passing shower had just ended and brought new light and droplets to work with.Lighting
This flower was situated in a way that had the light shining through it, so I took the opportunity to take the picture before that changed. Light seems to move very quickly during photo shoots.Equipment
This was a Canon 5D held as steady as I could in my hands.Inspiration
I was hoping for some good flower shots and wasn't getting much in the rest of the garden, when I spotted these flowers on some steps, away from the main area.Editing
Not much. I tweaked the exposure and stuff and cropped a bit.In my camera bag
I usually have a macro lens, a wide angle lens, and an everyday lens. Then, of course, extra batteries, sunscreen, and maybe some snacks.Feedback
Look at everywhere you have access to. While everyone else was in the main garden, where it was mostly shade, I was off to the side near a maintenance building that happened to have a few flowers around it. But that is where the sunbeam was.
