Hi Michele. Thanks for entering my Minimalist Landscapes Challenge. You are the Grand Winner in what turned out to be a very strong field of nearly 1400 entries.
I liked the composition and contrasts of texture and colour in a wide landscape that has almost the feel of a naive painter about it. Having narrowed entries down to ten favorites, yours became the benchmark against which others were measured, but I kept returning to this one. IIt's everything I hoped for in an entry. Well done. - Dave

Location
This photo was taken outside of Palouse, Washington, which is the southeast corner of the state. Standing on the side of the road, with not much shoulder.Time
This photo was taken in the afternoon, in Spring, around 2:30 pm. I believe the puffy clouds made the lighting less harsh than it would have been on a perfectly clear day at that time.Lighting
Mostly, I wanted the whites of the whitest parts of the clouds to stand out.Equipment
I used a Canon PowerShot S120.Inspiration
I liked the simplicity of the scene, coupled with interesting clouds.Editing
Tweaked the exposure a touch; very little done overall. In my camera bag
If using a Canon 5D only, then I have a 24-105 lens, a wide angle lens, and a macro lens. If I bring the Canon PowerShot too, then I may trade the 24-105 lens for a fish-eye lens, for fun.Feedback
