Location
The photo was taken in my home, in Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, is close to an eco-park, so it is visited daily by many insects. This time I received a pleasant visit of a praying mantis (Mantis religiosa).Time
I shot it during the day, in the evening the mantis was placed on a plant in my balcony, then I used a distant focus of public lighting for a backlight.Lighting
I used a distant focus (50 meters) of public lighting for a backlight.Equipment
Camera Nikon D600; lens 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 at 400mm and public lighting for a backlight.Inspiration
Usually the mantis are seen with fear, if this animal enters a house people kill them, mistakenly think they are poisonous. I want to show that there is nothing further from reality, to have a visit of an insect of these is a great luck.Editing
Adjustments (crop, sharpen, noise reduction, color balance, saturation, brightness and contrast)In my camera bag
Camera Nikon D600, lens 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6, lens 105 mm f/2.8 micro, lens 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5 and flash Nikon SB-910, additionally I carry a ND10 filter.Feedback
To get a good picture of bugs, you need to have a lot of patience and wait for the right moment.
