Critique?? Who would be critical of this shot! I've been trying for years to get a shot like this. Congrats! Wish this was my shot.

Joseph, Congratulations on winning the Eagle Challenge. I really liked this shot with the wings touching the water and the detail the composition provided. Beautiful POV with the eagle. Nicely executed.

Location
I took this photo at the Canadian Raptors Center. This is a rehabilitation center for numerous birds of prey. The owner runs photo tours for photographers to help pay for expenses and food. The owner had just finished building the pond on his property to add variety to his landscape. This is the first time he flew this bald eagle over the water and he flew low and his wings hit the water.Time
This image was shot on an overcast day early afternoon. I was happy the day was very overcast otherwise the eagle would be hard to expose with a white head and dark body.Lighting
This was shot on an overcast flat light day. The light was perfect to capture this magnificent bird. If it had been a sunny bright day it would have been difficult to expose for white head and dark body.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100 camera with a Nikon 80 to 200mm lens.Inspiration
I love photographing birds in flight and find it challenging to capture sharp images. This Raptors center is about a four-hour drive from where I live but well worth the effort driving there. I do not have Bald Eagles in my area and it is my favorite bird of prey. I set my camera with a higher ISO so that I can shoot at faster shutter speeds when photographing birds. The Bald Eagle has large wings and flys slower than smaller birds so it is easier to follow focus and capture. I shoot in continuous motor drive.Editing
I use Photoshop and shoot in raw to have maximum control over contrast and exposure. In my camera bag
I have Nikon D850 D750 D7100 in my bag. I have numerous Nikon and Tamron lenses. I use Godox flash equipment. I captured this image with an old Nikon 8o to 200 f2.8 push-and-pull zoom lens.Feedback
I look for opportunities to photograph nature whenever I can. I have traveled often outside my area to photograph birds and other animals to create memorable images.
