In 2014 I worked at a mine site in Whyalla, South Australia and for my off shift days I would travel back to Barmera. It is a 5 hour drive and for the majority of it, relatively boring. This one particular trip I was nearing Barmera and I was constantly monitoring the sun slowly going down. I predicted quite early on that it was going to be one nice summer sunset and I wanted to make it to this one particular tree that I had been eyeing off as a composition for a while. I made it just as the sun was going down over the horizon, the water was like glass and the clouds were just perfect.
This image will always remain special to me, it was the turning point for me to start taking my photography a little more seriously than as "just a hobby".
