Location
This photo was taken in a carpark in a small suburb in the northern gold coast region that overlooks a small valley but also has the mountains in the background.Time
This image was taken on sunset. We tried shooting this car at a few different times of the day but sunset seemed to make the orange really pop.Lighting
We really wanted the paint job of the truck to pop so we light painted it to achieve this and were so happy with the resultEquipment
Nikon D7100 18-200mm lens, ISO 100, f/11, exposure time 15 seconds Manfrotto tripod We used a studio light to light paint the truckInspiration
We were asked to do a shoot on this truck by a good friend so we looked around our local area for places that would compliment the vehicle. We were more than happy with the outcome of this image, it turned out so much better than we could have imaged.Editing
This image is the result of a few pictures stacked in photoshop to give this effect. Since we would light paint different parts of the car at a time we then had to combine them so the whole car was lit up.In my camera bag
Our Nikon D7100 35mm lens 18-200mm lens 50mm lens 10-20mm lens Nikon flash Sometimes we take our secondary camera which is a Nikon coolpix P610 as it does some great close up imagesFeedback
I was taught this technique by another photographer and was told to just keep practicing as much as possible to find out what angle to hold the light that works best for you, also best exposure time as each picture I do is different and locations to compliment the vehicle. Make sure the background isn't too busy as you don't want to take the focus away from the vehicle, I find just simple locations/backgrounds work best.
