I took this photo in Downtown Spokane, WA. I was going down there to learn to shoot long exposure waterfalls. This is upriver from the actual falls, which you can see in the distance.Time
I took this around 4:30-5pm at night. It was late winter early spring and the water was seriously flowing, which inspired me to go down and shoot.Lighting
Golden hour really is golden :)Equipment
I shot this with a Sony A57 on the 18-55 kit lens. At the time it was the widest lens I had. It was handheld.Inspiration
We have some beautiful sunsets here. I'm very new to photography, so after reading an article on how to shoot waterfalls, I packed up my gear to go practice. Fortunately I didn't check sunset times and showed up early to find parking. It happened to be a great situation because as I was walking to the spot I wanted to shoot, this scene was what I saw.Editing
Very little LR5 level adjustments. In my camera bag
Sony A57,Sony kit 18-55 Minolta 50mm, Minolta 70-200mm and a Tonkina 11-16mm. Tripod.Feedback
One piece of advice that was told to me by a fellow photographer has always stuck with me. "Don't forget to turn around." If you're to focused on what's in front of you, you might miss a chance at a great shot.
