Our local "streeter" whom we feed and care for, went missing for five days.

We thought, he has found a girlfriend, and will eventually appear when the heat recedes... he never missed two meals in a row before.

And today he came back, limping and hungry as can be! We noticed something tied to his hind leg, and I attempted to remove it - only to see that it is a wiretrap loop, pulled tight and well into his leg.

He let me remove it, although growling as it was obviously painful for him.

Then he ate, probably the first time in five days, as he's pretty lean compared to what we knew of his usual looks. And he ate well and plenty, while my wife (in tears) treated the wound. His right foot is twice its normal size now, from the cut of circulation caused by the tight trap loop.

He also got Analgin and B-Complex (to reduce pain and calm him down a bit), and the wound was treated with Betadine (iodine solution) and Flogocid cream, to supress inflamation.

For now, that and some sleep in the safety of our home should be enough. Later on we'll see what develops.

Well, on top of all the joy we have seeing Mila walk again... there's always something to douse one's happiness!

Thanks, my friend. He is already using all four legs ~90% of the time, the wound is {licked] clean, and he's back to his rounds as well as his usual behavior. I just hope he learned something that would help him avoid such situations in the future... But, aside of keeping him fed and loved when he's around, we have no idea where he goes. - and he prefers his freedom above all else!
