Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in my living room in Half Moon Bay, California. As a dog trainer, I always have lots of dogs around. This particular dog is my own; Sydney Gracie. After my previous dog passed, he would return and present himself as a ladybug.

Time

Midday

Lighting

The lighting is all natural. Very little post required.

Equipment

Always a Sony. This model was the DSC-HX200V.

Inspiration

It's always the same for me. I see a dog, I have to take a picture. I just can't help myself.

Editing

Yes! I combined two images here. The ladybug was originally on my arm. The dog; Sydney was doing what she does best - looking cute. I couldn't resist putting two of my favorite things together.

In my camera bag

Just my camera.

Feedback

Patience, patience, patience! I always have my camera close by. When I head out on a doggie photo shoot, I hangout with the dog long enough to get a feel for his personality. It's all about capturing that little glimpse of their soul. Without that, a photo is just a photo.
