Location
This was taken at Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada.Time
It was taken in the morning, around 0800hrs. I arrived at the park right at sunrise, but was distracted by two (2) male Desert Bighorn sheep, I photographed them for about 2hrs. I decided to see what else was at the park when I noticed the sun playing off the rocks...Lighting
The sun was starting to get above the rocks; it was bouncing in and amongst the rock walls.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 5d MKIII / Canon 70-200mm f/4 / Induro Tripod was used.Inspiration
I thought this was from another planet when I was looking at it.Editing
Processed in Lightroom, used a preset to adjust the overall picture, it gave me a great starting point. I then deepened the reds and adjusted sky.In my camera bag
For this trip I had my trusty FStop Loki bag / Canon 5d MKIII / Sigma 100-400mm / Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 / Canon 70-200mm f/4. Induro Tripod and and Induro Ball head.Feedback
The only advice I can give is arrive early and in the middle of the week so the Park is basically yours. If it had been a different time the Rangers Im sure would not have let me stop in the middle of the road or off on the shoulder to grab this image. I didnt see anyone the first 3 hrs I was at the park.
