This photo was taken in my garage. Makeshift studio with lights out, dark background and reflections of warm lights under the object that was put on a shiny surface.Time
Taken in the middle of the day for a photo project.Lighting
Bulb was on a metal surface and I used directional lights to give if a glow effect with reflection.Equipment
I use a Canon 5D mark IV. I believe this was take with a 100mm prime macro lens on a tripod from about 8 feet away.Inspiration
I was doing a photo project featuring a "home object" for a photo club monthly "quest". I have a series of different a dozen or so different versions with other colored lights & effects on this bulb, but this one came out the best.Editing
I typically push colors and contrast on images - try to make the darks darker and highlights lighter, but these shots came out the camera pretty nice and ready to go without too much post processing. In my camera bag
Along with my Canon 5D mark IV, I have canon 16-35, 50mm, 24-70 and 100-400 lenses. I also have a Fuji XT3 converted to infrared with an 18-135 lens.Feedback
Mess around with the lighting, try different surfaces - I thought about using a tub with water but didn't end up doing it. Focus on the object with lights on, then dial in your aperture and shutter settings with the lights off. Set ISO to 100 and use a tripod - some of my exposure were 30 seconds... Have fun!
