The "Arch" is a 630-foot tall and 630 wide at the base monument in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The Arch is covered with stainless steel and is built in the form of a flattened Catenary Arch ~ which is one of the strongest structural shapes. It is the tallest man-made monument in the United States, Missouri's tallest accessible building, and the world's tallest arch. There are elevators that go and down up each leg of the arch and an observation room at the top with windows looking out each side. The fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children 3 - 16. During the summer the wait is usually around an hour to take the tour to the top. Until recently the only way to shoot an image like this was to fly by in a helicopter or to trespass on private property across the river from the river front. The have now build an observation platform across the river so any one can get high enough to take images over the flood wall and commercial structures.
