Behind The Lens

Location

I like to drive around the country side looking for interesting things to photograph. I saw this old cabin on a large country property, it's exactly the things I look for.

Time

I took this photo around mid afternoon with an overcast sky. Overcast days are perfect for capturing colours and dramatic images.

Lighting

The overcast sky created a nice dramatic gloomy feel for this deteriorating building.

Equipment

Canon eos RP with a Tamron 70-300 telephoto zoom lens. I took it sitting in my car on the side of the road

Inspiration

I love things that have textures and mysterious history behind them. I like things that look ugly because an image can make it interesting and beautiful to look at.

Editing

Yes I use Lightroom for all my images. I shoot in raw for best results. I mostly adjust lighting, shadows, and contrast.

In my camera bag

I carry a telephoto and a 50mm prime lens at all times. I also like to have a vintage lens with me.

Feedback

Taking pictures of something that is old and corroding is best without direct sunlight
