Hug Point State Park about 5 miles south of Cannon Beach, OR has a lot of history to it, was made the official coast highway before Hwy 101 was completed in 1930. Governor Oswald West was very concerned about preserving the beaches in the area and the point provided a vital link between north and south beaches in the late 1800s-1900s. Check it out on the net. Meanwhile this is a seasonal waterfall just around the corner from the point and flows only with spring runoff from the mountains. A great park to visit!
