Great photo! Is this the beach in the setting of Steven Spielberg's "Goonies"?
Kylerosso January 30, 2023
It’s close. Same state. Just a few hundred miles south

Behind The Lens

This was taken in a spot I've been wanting to photograph for a few years. It’s called secret beach on the coast of Oregon. My wife surprised me with a trip for my birthday.

This was taken at sunset in February.

I wanted more time here. I wanted to spend days photographing this spot in all lighting conditions. But I had a short window of time here because there was other locations I wanted to shoot too. But I wanted a more silhouette image at sundown.

I used my Nikon z7 with the 20mm 1.8. I used a tripod as well

I’ve seen this location online and have dreamt about going here. It is just such a beautiful seascape.

I exposed for the sky so I had to brighten the foreground. I added a little saturation

In my camera bag

I have a Nikon z7II now. I’ve got the 20, 35, 50, 85, and the 135mm. All 1.8s. I always have the Godox V1 flash too.

I would just say, if you ever see a place that inspires you, make an effort to get there and explore. Just go for it. You’ll never be disappointed.
