Location
The photo was taken in my house in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am a self-taught hobby photographer who truly enjoys taking portrait photos of animals and humans. I believe I still have lots to learn, and I am constantly working on improving my photography skills and editing abilities.Time
This was one of those lucky and completely unplanned photos. It was a warm Autumn afternoon just before sun-set. The kids were playing outside with our dog Misty, hubby and I were busy preparing family dinner and Savannah (our cat in this photo) was sleeping peacefully on the couch on my indoor patio.... until she heard the canned-fish Tuna being opened..... This photo was taken late Sunday afternoon at 16:42pm.Lighting
It was all natural lighting before sunset, the photo took place on my indoor patio in front of the opened stacked glass doors where lots of natural afternoon sun-light made its way into the area.Equipment
Because this was a classic unplanned photo opportunity, I had to quickly seize the moment, therefore the photo was shot with my iPhone 11 Pro back dual camera 6mm f/2.Inspiration
I always try to stay present in the moment and seize every moment of happiness and beauty. When I saw Savannah's curiosity peak at the simple prospect of a tasty late lunch, I had to capture it. As her eyes searched in wonder as I prepared the tuna, it reminded me to always look for the wonder in life.Editing
Savannah has beautiful big green eyes. Besides cropping the photo and increasing the exposure slightly, no other post-processing or editing was done on this photo. I wanted to keep the photo natural and real looking. In my camera bag
In my bag you will find my Canon EOS M50 camera with the following lenses: Canon EF-M22mm (for macro shots), EF-M15-45mm (for portrait shots) and EF-S55-250mm (for wildlife shots). In addition to this, the camera battery charger, an extra memory stick, tripod and a lens cleaner brush are in my bag.Feedback
Always be on the outlook for a photo opportunity, sometimes it appears when least expect it.
