Location
This photo was sourced from an abandoned farm in rural Weld County, Colorado, USA.Time
I found myself admiring the history and antiquity of the location during late afternoon or "golden hour", as it is affectionately referred to.Lighting
The sun was setting behind this out building which gave the surroundings some extra glow.Equipment
For this shot I utilized my trusty Nikon D750 coupled with the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/ 2.8 lens with naturally occurring lighting.Inspiration
My admiration for rural scenes has deep roots; growing up in a small town bordered by corn and hay fields; and also having visited my grandparents farm as a youngster. There is an immense amount of effort that goes into building and maintaining a life in a rural farming environment such as this. My appreciation for these efforts is as strong as steel. I fondly call things like this, "the antiquities of human existence".Editing
Adobe Camera Raw was utilized to accentuate details, color, and lighting. In my camera bag
Nikon cameras, now shooting mainly with the D850. Most often using a few different Tamron lenses or the Nikkor 85mm 1.8 or even the Nikkor 24-120mm. My favorite has to be the 15-30mm f/2.8 for creative perspectives.Feedback
You don't necessarily need to be far from your subject when using a wide angle lens. Quite often I find myself shooting things close up, from unusual angles.
