I'm heading out there next month. I am curious about a couple of things. I am wanting to avoid mistakes with exposure. Early morning light, I would assume lower f-stop? I have seen several people shooting wildlife as mid range f-stops and lower shutter speed..

Yes - lowest f stop possible and lower shutter speed. I tend to try to use auto ISO and adjust my exposure compensation...but do be careful that your upper limit is not set too high. It's always a tricky balancing act though.
