Behind The Lens

Location
The photo was taken during our trip to the Galapagos. I was trying to getting down to the eye lever with the creature. After a few tries, this one gave me the best post.
Time
The photo was taken in the middle of the day - luckily, it was a cloudy day.
Lighting
I wanted to be able to capture not only the eyes, but also all the colors of the crab, i.e. top view would not capture the blue on the bottom.
Equipment
Sony a-6000 (a good travel camera, not too heavy), E 4.5-6.3 / 70-350 G OSS, handheld, no flash
Inspiration
I love travel and nature. The Galapagos trip was so fascinating - seeing all the wildlife in their habitat. I had good opportunity to be able to get up close to them.
Editing
I use Adobe Lightroom for minor editing, such as cropping, highlights, shadows, and vignette as necessary.
In my camera bag
For traveling, I carry my Sony a-6000, a Sony F4 18-105 lens, a Sony E 4.5-6.3 / 70-350 G OSS lens, 4 batteries, and lens cleaning stuff.
Feedback
Get down to the same level as the subject, and capture the eyes.
