Underwater Wildlife Action photography. These ominous invaders are Spiny lobsters , or Sea Crawfish , an endangered species that are native to British waters. This photograph was taken at anglesey Sea Zoo, a fundamental contributor through charity donations in the Crawfish research project which is trying to repopulate the waters of the british coast with these valuable sea creatures and find ways to improve their habitat so that they can finally survive and thrive without human intervention. The photograph was taken through the viewing window on their exterior breeding tanks which create an enclosed and protected area for them to take young crawfish and allow them to grow to a suitable size to survive when they are let loose through a gate in the tanks back into the open sea. They were lit with UV and flourescent lighting on occasion to allow this form of photography to occur so a creative composition of some natural but interesting action whilst also producing a portrait style image of the species was quite time consuming. The settings I chose were a combination which I have not tried before whilst taking moving wildlife subjects and i am more used to using for static portraits but in this setting seemed to produce some satisfactory results because of the allowance of illumination it produced despite using continuous shooting .
