This is in the small town of Ocean Shores Washington USA This was our yearly trip to the Celtic Feis. It had over 25 stages in past but this was the post "the virus that can not be named in my house"(REALLY). and they could not have the huge amount of stages. They had it at the bar that host for the Feis. And limited. We didn't get one of the 50 tickets. But we went and were treated to a "cyclonic bomb" with high tides , wind and huge waves. Giddy to see this.Time
It was October so I am guessing late afternoon. It gets really gloomy at 3 PM.Lighting
It was dark and I was worried about the lighting. I flip the flash. For when the camera screams at my,"flash".Equipment
I had my Canon Hot shot and a low density filter and the camera flash. I had about 4 shots taken when the wind about knocked me over and that was my clue to get out of the rain that was pelting down on me.Inspiration
I have seen so many shots of waves and knew I needed the filter if I wanted to try. So I tried on these 4 breaks and this is what I got on 1 of the 4 shots I took.Editing
I using lightroom and added a bit of color and that was it.In my camera bag
I didn't have a camera bag actually on me. That was safely in the room.I always have extra batteries and some sort of ND lens to protect the lensFeedback
Check you weather forecast and then plan your time for max exposure. I was lucky it because all I had to do is get out the back door and rolled about 30 feet and turn to the left and then shoot.
