Location
the photo was taken in Fontanellato, a small village in the province of Parma, in Italy, a village so small that it is mostly occupied by this beautiful castle with a moat still full of water (it is one of the few castles with this feature)
Time
I took towards sunset as you can guess from the color of the clouds in the sky
Lighting
this spot is near my house, and this particular shot is my favorite. It's actually the back of the castle and not the main facade, but I find this symmetry adorable. The light is completely natural and there is nothing added.
Equipment
To obtain this effect I used a particular ultra-wide angle lens, the laowa 10-18. The photo was taken handheld, as there was still sufficient light. There's not much more to say about the equipment, just the camera and lens.

Inspiration
As mentioned, it's a spot that I have close to home and therefore I took many photographs and was able to study it in depth and this is my favorite shot. I love central symmetries and my photos have often been taken this way for years now. I'm not a fan of the rule of thirds. I love the order and tranquility that symmetrical and well-balanced compositions give me.
Editing
For several years now I have studied a fairly precise workfow on the post-production of this type of photo, I think I have developed a personal style and therefore it is difficult for me to do something very different. Broadly:
I emphasize the contrasts of light and color, I exalt the lights above all, I illuminate the central area of ??the photo, I don't remove the vignetting, in fact I often exalt it, I don't remove the flare if I like them, I like lenses with character and laowa 10- 18 is definitely a lens with a lot of character that needs little post-production. I always turn the colors a little towards blue-violet. But they are all post-productions that never distort the photo. If a photo is not valid in the car, I discard it immediately. It's not worth wasting time post producing photos that aren't already good at the snap. This is my thought.
In my camera bag
I have very few things. When I go to take pictures of this type lately I have the camera, a sony a7III and the laowa 10-18. I sold all the other wide angle lenses I had. Of course I have other lenses for specific uses, such as landscape astrophotography which is another field that I love and portrait photography, but for architectural photos in the city I only use the laowa 10-18, which is fine in 90% of the situations I love to photograph.
Feedback
The advice I can give you is not to take even the spots close to home for granted, to go around the subject to find the best shot, to get down, to get up to find unusual shots. I advise you to go out with the car when the light gets interesting. Another piece of advice I can give is to take less, fewer photos and higher quality, throw away the photos that are not valid without regret.
