Fantastic photo and capture. I definitely will be buying a 600mm zoom lens and selling my Sigma 500mm lens. Have to admit I was mistaken about thinking it was a white balance issue taking pictures with lots of white snow. I am thinking the issue of a dark subject and white background is a dynamic range issue. Spot or center focusing on the subject will yield a more true representation of the subject and the white background shouldn't be affected or can be selected and recolored. I wouldn't say a thing if it weren't that your pictures are wonderful captures.
