Location
I took this photo during a workshop in the northeast of Brazil. What's most interesting about this photo is that there's a person just in the middle of the horizon with his left arm up as he was aware of my presence waving at me. Because it's a tiny point on the frame, I only realize this in post-production by zooming in.Time
I took it at 9 AM on July 10, 2019.Lighting
The bright clouds in a saturated blue sky in contrast to the orangish sand contrast also caught my eye.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 6D with an EF 35mm f/1.4LInspiration
I wanted to take this picture because the sand's tire marks converge to a vanishing point on the horizon. The saturated blue sky with bright clouds reinforces a sense of magnitude.Editing
I always took photos in raw to give flexibility in post-processing. In this case, I lifted the contrast a bit, increased the shadows, dropped the blacks, and adjusted the tone curve in Lightroom. In the end, I converted it to black and white. In my camera bag
A Canon 6D body. A prime 35mm f/1.4, by the way, a very sharp lens, and a zoom 24-105mm f/4 for landscapes. For portraits an 85mm f/1.8. Sometimes a tripod. A little bit heavy, but it's all I need.Feedback
I think photography is all about observation, patience, and persistence. The results you see as this process go along.
